# Battery backup in Miami: choosing for an apartment

To prepare a Miami apartment for an outage, first choose the appliances you need to support: phones, internet, lights, ventilation or a refrigerator. Compare a power station against those loads and the intended hours of use.

A portable unit can power compatible plug-in equipment. Central air conditioning or backup for household circuits requires a different review.

## Build a list you can verify

Separate essentials from appliances that can wait. A coffee maker, microwave or heater may use a significant share of the available output while running.

Record consumption and required hours for each essential load. If consumption varies, measure energy over a representative period. A refrigerator compressor also needs a starting-power check.

Do not choose a battery solely because a product photograph shows the same appliances you own.

## Compare two different limits

Continuous output in W limits the power of appliances running together. Capacity in Wh helps assess available energy.

Anker lists the SOLIX C1000 Gen 2 at 1,024 Wh and 2,000 W. Those figures do not mean it can run a 2,000 W load for an hour. Nameplate capacity, losses, reserve and the station's own consumption affect runtime.

Compare specific configurations in the collection and check what each offer includes. Do not buy an expansion battery assuming it can operate independently.

## Decide where and how to recharge

Before an interruption, check the charge level and prepare compatible cables. For a prolonged outage, establish where energy to recharge will come from.

In an apartment, solar charging depends on actual access to sunlight, space, orientation and building rules. Do not plan runtime around panels in a location where access or permission has not been established.

Miami-Dade's heavy-rain guidance notes that flooding and power outages can occur together. Follow the equipment's environmental limits and plan a dry location.

## Review operation in your home

Check space, required ventilation, cable routes and access to outlets. Confirm applicable building rules. A portable station does not replace professionally reviewed and installed circuit backup.

## Buying for Miami or for family abroad

These are different decisions. For equipment used in Miami, check the delivery address, availability and offer conditions. Do not assume a physical shop, local pickup or same-day delivery.

If you are buying for family in another country, review the [Shop portable power stations](/shop/collections/portable-power/) before paying. Transport, destination requirements and later support need confirmation.

Bring your load list, required hours and charging location to the comparison. That makes it possible to assess energy and output without paying for a size that does not solve the intended need.

## You can also pay with USDT

Choose your model and quantity in the [portable power Store](/shop/collections/portable-power/). Request an invoice by email from the product page or your cart. We confirm availability, delivery and the final total before sending it.

## Estimate backup for your own equipment

Once you have your appliance list and intended hours of use, [use our portable power calculator](/shop/assessment/portable-power/) to prepare a selection. It is a planning guide; confirm consumption, startup demand, compatibility and manufacturer conditions before deciding.
