How BetterPowered uses illustrative upgrade scenarios

Illustrative scenarios explain sequencing logic. They are not customer results, project quotes, savings guarantees, engineering models or promises that a property can reach a specific annual offset.

Professionals review an energy upgrade plan for a Florida property

Central Florida cooling scenario

The former homepage example used a rounded 21,600 kWh annual baseline and illustrated a 7,600 kWh reduction across heat-pump, duct, attic and water-heating assumptions. The values were hypothetical and were not measured at a customer property.

South Florida roof, solar and backup scenario

The former example used a rounded 18,900 kWh baseline and illustrated efficiency work before solar annual offset. Battery and reroof coordination were treated as resilience and sequencing items, not counted savings. Annual offset did not mean off-grid operation.

Light-commercial controls and solar scenario

The former example used a rounded 84,000 kWh baseline to show how operating schedules, HVAC controls, lighting controls and later solar could be sequenced. It was not a benchmark or expected result for a real facility.

Evidence rule for future case studies

A public result must identify the source of baseline and post-work data, dates, weather or occupancy limitations, completed scope and owner permission. Until those records exist, BetterPowered labels scenarios as illustrative and keeps them outside conversion claims.
